Organized for the first time in 2013, EMMA is the result of cooperation between HUMG and Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola (THGA), the Society of Mining Professors (SOMP), ISSA-Mining, VINACOMIN and PETROVIETNAM. EMMA has focused on many aspects of sustainable development in the extractive industry, safety in mining and innovation for economic development.
The EMMA 6 highlights the 10-year journey of international collaboration in providing internationally cutting edge knowledge, understanding, experiences and lessons on the aspect of interrelationship between economic management and mineral activities, which are the basis for advanced education, research and, more importantly, sustainable development of the mining sector. 45 qualified papers have been selected to be published in the EMMA 6 Proceedings, 14 oral presentations have been discussed in 3 technical sessions of the conference.
On this occasion, the scientists expressed their honorable appreciation to the dedication of Professor Juergen Kretschmann - President of THGA - who initiated the EMMA since 2013 and always gave his unconditional support and strong commitment. Not only accompanying the EMMA during the past years, he also made a great contribution to the development of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of HUMG by sending academic staff for lecturing at HUMG, co-working with researchers of the faculty for co-publishing and supporting student’s excursions from THGA to Vietnam.
