The Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and the Can Tho University jointly organized the National Conference on Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership in frame of the Erasmus+ project ANGEL

On the morning of March 20, 2024, the National Conference on Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership within the framework of the Erasmus+ ANGEL project was held at Thuan Thanh meeting room, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG).

Attending the conference, from the HUMG, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Vinh - Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum and Energy, Dr. To Xuan Ban - Dean of the Faculty of Geological Science and Engineering, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ms. Nguyen Kim Chung Deputy Head of the Department of Public Relations and Enterprises; representatives of Faculties and Departments. From the Can Tho University (UTC) came Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Ngon - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Tran Thanh Hung - Vice-Rector of the University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dzung - Dean of the Faculty of Automation. There were also representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Open University, the Tra Vinh University, student representatives, and other partner members.

The conference was honored to welcome a Ministry of Science and Technology representative, Ms. Dang Thu Giang - Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy who shared important information about regulations and incentives related to Innovation and Green Growth in Vietnam.

On behalf of Vietnamese partners in ANGEL project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoai Nga - Head of the International Office of the HUMG - presented the contribution of the HUMG in the national green development strategy implementation through education, scientific research, and technology transfer.

At the Conference, speakers shared valuable experiences and useful advice on green entrepreneurship education, green skills and jobs, and successful startup stories that inspired entrepreneurs, students, and young people.

The award-winning green start-up projects of students from the HUMG and UTC have made a strong impression, demonstrating the creativity that the young generation applied in modern science and technology to solve social and environmental problems.

The conference was a great success and left a good impression in delivering many useful values ​​to the attendees.

The ANGEL project (ASEAN Network for Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership) is funded by the ERASMUS+ program, in which the HUMG and CTU are two Vietnamese partners in collaboration with other universities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, and some European partners since 2021. ANGEL aims to offer training courses and training materials on entrepreneurship and green leadership for students, people with disabilities, and women. The project is to contribute to making the world greener and implementing the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
