Industrial University of Tyumen has become a participant of the Summer Institute Project for faculty members and researchers initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the first time. It is planned that from July 29 to August 12, the university will host 25 representatives of universities from China, South Africa, Vietnam, the Philippines, Iraq, Mongolia, Serbia and Nigeria. The subject matter of the IUT Summer Institute program is indicated in its name - "Oil Horizons of Siberia" - and is associated with one of the university's priority areas of focus. Participants will be offered a specially developed engineering track, and for the first time in the history of the project, it will be implemented in English.
IUT faculty will update young researchers about the development of oil and gas wells in Western Siberia, methods of increasing oil recovery and intensifying the inflow, hydrodynamic modeling and the use of computer simulators for the oil and gas complex, maintenance and repair of oil and gas equipment. The program includes an introduction to the IUT training and production drilling complex located in the practice ground of Uspenka. The participants will be shown the "Process Factory" as an innovative platform for the practical application of lean manufacturing tools.
IUT partners will take part in the implementation of educational tracks: Tyumen State University, Ural Federal University and Tyumen Oil Research Center. The professional modules will be complemented by a rich cultural program that will introduce participants to the history and traditions of Siberia. Project participants will visit the archaeological museum-reserve, learn about the history of the development of Siberia, get acquainted with the culture of merchants, the traditions of the Cossacks, the fate of the Decembrists and much more.
