The Roundtable Discussion took place at the Pho Yen Meeting Room, HUMG, with the participation of Ms. Joanna Skoczek – Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vietnam, Dr. Wojciech Karczewski – Director General of NAWA, and representatives from 14 Polish universities and 13 Vietnamese higher education institutions.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Vinh – Vice Rector of HUMG, affirmed that education serves as a lasting bridge between the two nations. He emphasized that the Roundtable provided an important platform for Vietnamese and Polish universities to share visions, set priorities, and expand cooperation in training, research, and innovation. HUMG expressed its intention to further strengthen collaboration with Polish universities in key areas of mutual interest, including mining engineering, geology, green transition, and digital technology.

During the discussion session, delegates exchanged views on opportunities to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration between Vietnamese and Polish higher education institutions. The discussions focused on developing student and faculty exchange programs, co-supervised postgraduate training, expanding strategic partnerships, and reviewing ongoing collaborative projects to identify future directions.

In the afternoon, the Mini Education Fair – Introduction to Polish Universities took place at Hall 300, HUMG, with the participation of Dr. Wojciech Karczewski – Director General of NAWA, Ms. Nguyen Mai Duyen – Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, representatives from nearly 15 Polish universities, and more than 200 HUMG students.
The opening ceremony was held in a formal atmosphere, featuring welcome remarks by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Vinh – Vice Rector of HUMG, who expressed his honor to welcome Polish universities—long-standing partners of the University. He emphasized that the Fair served as a valuable opportunity for HUMG students to gain direct access to Poland’s advanced education system, explore scholarship and research pathways, broaden their perspectives, and nurture aspirations for international integration.

Following the opening ceremony, counseling and information sessions were organized at the C12 Lobby, where HUMG students met and interacted directly with representatives of Polish universities to learn more about academic programs, admission requirements, scholarships, and career prospects. The consultation environment was dynamic, friendly, and open, reflecting students’ strong interest in Poland’s modern, innovative, and inclusive education system.

The “Vietnam–Poland Higher Education 2025” series at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology concluded successfully, marking a new step forward in educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation between the two countries. The event not only provided a platform for universities to exchange ideas and enhance collaboration but also reaffirmed HUMG’s leading role in fostering international academic connectivity and contributing to a vibrant, creative, and sustainable Vietnam–Poland knowledge community.
