CUG in Wuhan, China, is highly ranking in geology and geosciences education. There are 45 Vietnamese students studying at CUG at the moments, at all level of education. During the last ten years, CUG has been supporting HUMG in educating PhD candidates. The PhD title holders from CUG are now working effectively at HUMG in different positions.
During the meeting the two universities were discusssing of further opportunies in the future, regarding scholarships for short-term and long-term training programs, join research and co-publishing on international journals, organizing short courses or winter/summer course, and increasing staff mobility and student exchange.
Both HUMG and CUG are in strong diversity and promoting multi- and interdisciplines in their education programs. Today HUMG is not only concentrating on mining and earth sciences but also investing in IT, civil engineering, environment engineering, business administration, and electro-mechanic engineering. Therefore, CUG and HUMG can find out in the meeting many common perspectives for their development in the future.

In the afternoon. Prof. Li facilitated the seminar of geosciences in gold mineralization and other research results of the School of Earth Resources, attracting the participation of academic staff and students from the Faculty of Geology and Geosciences. According to Prof. Ngo Xuan Thanh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences and Engineering of HUMG, knowledge from the seminar is helpful for the comparison of gold types in Viet Nam.
