Workshop assessment of University Industry Partnerships in Vietnam higher education institutions

Yesterday, the workshop ‘Assessment of university-industry partnerships in Vietnam higher education institutions’ hosted by Industrial University Ho Chi Minh City was successfully organised in HCMC. The event welcomed Prof Hisham Elkadi, the University of Salford and Ms Nicole Preston, Balfour Beatty - infrastructure industry. Sharing at the workshop, the UK speakers presented innovation trends in higher education highlighting the importance of Government – University-Industry partnership model.

“Industry and academic partnerships strategy is the foundation of a truly excellent vision for universities in advancing their positions well into the 21st century,” said Professor Elkadi. Representing view of industry partner, Ms Nicole Preston stressed, the industry in the UK had been working closely with universities in maximising students’ skills and developing their employability as well as involved in teaching, engaging, research and operation.

Organised under UK Vietnam Higher Education Partnership supported by the British Council in Vietnam, the workshop is part of the partnership between University of Salford, Can Tho University, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, Tra Vinh University, and Mien Tay University that aims to build up a model that supports GUI partnership development in Vietnam.
