The ceremony was witnessed by the representatives of Petro Viet Nam (PVN), including Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thap, Deputy General, and Mr. Hoang The Dzung, Vice Head, Department of Technology Safety Environment; Viet Nam Petroleum Institute with Dr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Director, Dr. Nguyen Minh Quy, Deputy Director and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Directo.
Representing HUMG itself were Assoc. Prof. Tran Xuan Truong, Presindent of University Council, and the Board of Presidency: Prof. Tran Thanh Hai, Rector, Prof. Bui Xuan Nam, Vice Rector and Assoc. Prof. Trieu Hung Truong, Vice Rector as well as other esteemed managers.
The ceremony marked another milestone in the collaboration between the two organizations, approaching the goal of being comprehensive partners from their advantages and potential capacity. According to the agreement, VPI and HUMG are cooperating in establishment and deployment research programs for the development of the Vietnamese oil and gas industry, geology and mineral extractives, enhancement partnerships with universities and institutes, science and technology business, and prestige copyright suppliers in the world. The two organizations will organize joint research groups, priortizing in geology and rock mechanics, increasing recovery index, and developing softwares for the oil and gas industry.
Regarding education and capacity building, VPI and HUMG work for builidng and perfecting education programs in accordance with the development of the oil and gas industry, both in national and international, forming experts data, publishing workbooks and teaching materials, etc. The two partners cooperate and develop signature VPI - HUMG shorterm training programs, supporting training and practicing, utilizing lecturers, experts, infrastructure and equipment, etc.
Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thap, Deputy General of PVN expressed his support to VPI and HUMG to implement the agreement. The leader of PVN proposed the two organizations to implement their research and concrete solutions to optimize their advantages and to overcome challenges of the industry in future context.
Speaking on behalf of HUMG, Prof. Tran Thanh Hai, Rector of HUMG, expressed his praise of infrastructure, human resoources and the critical role of VPI in the development of the oil and gas industry, which is also an important factor of the industrialization and modernization of Viet Nam. He also showed his belief in the strengthening of the collaboration for the development of education and training, research and knowledge tranfer of the two partners. According to Prof. Hai, the signing ceremony highlighted the long-lasting and effects partnership between the two organizations.
