In two weeks since October 14, 2019, Werner Heinze, former Head of Risk Management Department of RAG Aktiengesellschaft Germany, also an international lecturer of University of Applied Sciences Georg Agricola in Bochum, Germany was founding the HUMG students mindset of risk management in the coal mining industry. Industrial partners of HUMG such as Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Joint Stock Company and Viet Nam National Coal - Minerals Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) offered the course participants visits to a coal mine and Mine Safety Center.

Graduate courses and activities within VEF-US Faculty Scholar Program 2016-2017

In the framework of VEF-US Faculty Scholar Program, Professor Nguyen Thai Duc from Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Old Dominion University, United State of America has delivered two graduate courses of "Finite Element Methods (FEM)" in the Fall 2016 semester and "Engineering Optimization (EO)" in the Spring 2017 semester for lecturers and students of HUMG through video-conferencing/remote teaching mode, supplemented by his "face-to-face" intensive seminars to be held at HUMG campus.
