Welcome to Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, the leading institution in Viet Nam for education in geology, mining, surveying and cartography, oil and gas exploration and production.

Established in 1966, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology has trained nearly 80 thousand engineers, masters, and PhDs. Many of them have become senior leaders of the country. Entering the new stage, the university is developing with a new orientation. By 2020, Hanoi University (HUMG) will become a key multidisciplinary and prestigious university in the country and region with the scale for training 30,000 students. It will be a center for scientific research and technology transfer in earth sciences, mining and other scientific fields and a place with many leading experts and lectures in the country in the field of Mining, Geology, Geomactics and Land Administration, Petroleum, Information Technology, Economics - Business Administration, Construction especially in underground construction, and Environment. The university is constantly expanding international cooperation on undergraduate and graduate training, scientific research, providing consulting services, training in foreign languages in advanced programs and high quality programs cooperating with regional and international prestigious universities. By 2030, HUMG will become a research-oriented university with domestic and regional brands.

The goals of the university are promoting core values of quality, creativity, pioneering, integration, high social responsibility and sustainable development; providing high quality human resources to meet the development needs of the country, contributing to the prosperity of Viet Nam as well as the region and the world., HUMG always attaches great importance to and extends cooperation to universities, research institutes, agencies and other partners in the country and worldwide. The university considers this as a breakthrough factor to quickly integrate into the international level.
