The visit was connected and arranged by the Saskatchewan Trade and Investment Office of the Canadian Consulate General in Vietnam. The delegation worked with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Advanced Education, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Regina to explore the possibility of cooperation, discuss student and faculty exchange programs, study tour for Canadian students in Vietnam, scholarship programs for students and young lecturers of the HUMG for short-term and long-term study in Canada, implementing a number of activities under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and the University of Regina.
The delegation also visited the Saskatchewan Research Council, the Petroleum Technology Research Center, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources and Geological Lab to learn about laboratory construction activities and research projects on improving the efficiency of oil recovery, CO2 capture storage, research into rare earth and strategic metals processing, and discuss the possibilities of cooperation in scientific research in the fields mentioned above.
The visit opened many potential cooperation opportunities in the future of the Hanoi University of Mining - Geology and Canadian partners in undergraduate and graduate training in the world's new fields of science and technology, development of orientations and bilateral and multilateral research projects.
