On November 18, 2019, a system of laboratory equipment for electrical engineering training funded by the Erasmus + ESSENCE project was installed at the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. Shortly thereafter, on November 21 and 22, 2019, the supplier had software instruction sessions for lecturers and lab instructors of the Electrification Department and the Faculty of Electro-Mechanics.

Hanoi University of Mining and Geology is one of 10 European, Russian and Vietnamese partners of the Erasmus + ESSENCE project funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Russian and Vietnamese universities are developing master's program in Smart Energy System (SES). As planned, the Erasmus + ESSENCE project sponsors Hanoi University of Mining and Geology a laboratory system including computers and software worth 23,250 Euro. Purchased equipment consists:

- Technical sofware for labs to simulate or analyze the state optimization of SES with the following modules: + Dynamic & Transients; + Electrical Network analysis; + Intelligent Load Shedding; + Network analysis for Renewable Systems; + Network Optimization; + Power monitoring and simulation; + Renewable Energy; + System Optimization; + Load Management System;

- 8 desktops and 2 laptops with configurations suitable to run the software;

- 01 82 inches smart board and reference books for teaching and learning.

The funded equipment has contributed to improving the laboratory's capacity, improving the quality of training and learning, especially putting it into use in order to pilot new training program developed under the project.
