Scientific research cooperation between HUMG and THGA Germany

On May 25, 2021, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) and Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola (THGA, Germany) organized a webinar to exchange ideas for scientific research cooperation with the participation of scientists, research groups, managers of science and technology and international cooperation of the two institutions.

HUMG and THGA established the partnership in 2010. Since then, the two unversities have cooperated to organize 5 international conferences on Economic Management in Mineral Activities (EMMA) in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020. Lecturers of THGA have visited HUMG and delivered short-term courses in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019. THGA has sent students to Vietnam to attend internships and fieldwork programs at mines and production facilities in the mining industry in 2016 and 2018.

In the coming time, HUMG and THGA affirm to continue promoting cooperation activities, focusing on developing high-quality joint training programs, exchanging lecturers - students - researchers, organizing fieldtrip/internship programs, collaborating in the development of Erasmus+ proposals, jointly conducting scientific research projects.

At the webinar, scientists from both HUMG and THGA presented their research ideas and discussed enthusiastically to find out opportunities for cooperation in developing research topics for the bilateral research project, especially focusing on the field of mitigation of geological hazards in Vietnam and mining science.

The webinar between HUMG and THGA has connected Vietnamese and German scientists, many initials have found mutual interest of the two sides. The parties continued to work and exchange via email to promote the development of research proposals mentioned during the webinar.
