In the latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, prevention measures have been applied widely, such as disinfecting the dormitory area, providing hand sanitizer for students, requiring them to distance themselves, and limiting going out. Students strictly comply with the regulations of Hanoi City and the university's rules on epidemic prevention and control.
In the light of social distancing, international students of HUMG have faced many difficulties, especially in terms of food and necessities. Understanding the situation, on the 28th of July 2021, HUMG has provided emergency food supplies to its international students, including 246 kg of rice, 164 cartons of fresh milk, 410 packs of instant noodles, and 82 cooking oil bottles.

Food and necesities supported by HUMG for international students.
Besides, the first "0 VND minimarket" in Hanoi held a pilot operation on 1st of August 2021, at Duc Thang ward, Bac Tu Liem district, to support low-income workers, students stuck in dormitories, people with disabilities, and disadvantaged people. The Youth Union - Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi, Red Star Entrepreneur Club, and Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) are organizers of this operation, besides the Young Business Association Hanoi and the Hanoi Association of Women Businessmen. The minimarket provided more than 60 items of instant food, meat, spices, vegetables, etc. Each HUMG international student received a voucher worth VND 400,000 to use for their necessities at the 0 VND supermarket.

Items from "0 VND supermarket" were handed over to Laos and Cambodian students.
All of the support in need helped the international students of HUMG during the social distances in Hanoi when many minimarts and fresh markets are closed due to increasing active cases in the community. Moreover, as many students have been away from home for a long time, the help from organizations also spiritually encouraged them to overcome difficulties and continue studying in their second home at HUMG.
