Hanoi University of Mining and Geology strengthens cooperation with Korean partners

From 28/10/2024 to 01/11/2024, the delegation of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Truong - Chairman of the Board of Trustees, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Hoang Bac – Director of the Center for Excellence in Analysis and Experiment, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Phi – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Environment paid a visit to universities and research institutions in Korea, opening up many opportunities for cooperation in the future.

During the visit, the delegation visited Pai Chai University and was welcomed by Prof. Kim Wook, President of Pai Chai University and leaders of international affairs. Pai Chai University offers training in a variety of fields including science and engineering, business and tourism. Many common fields that the two universities can explore for collaboration, such as IT and computer science, AI, drone and robotics development, automation, economics, and tourism sectors towards sustainable development. The delegation discussed promoting the content signed between the two Universities such as student exchange, postgraduate training for young staff, summer courses and implementation of scientific research projects. Besides, the delegates had a talk with nearly 300 Vietnamese students currently studying at Pai Chai University and visited the College of AI/SW Creative Convergence.

Leaving Pai Chai University, the delegation visited Hannam University and had meeting with Prof. Yi Seung Cheol - President and leaders, professors, and scientists of departments of Hannam University. The discussions focused on developing a 2+2 training program in the field of water and environment with the support of K-Water Group specializing in the field of water resources of Korea. Many research fields between the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology with Hannam University and K-Water on digital twin platforms in water resources management, plant operation technology, network management, smart pipeline networks combined with artificial intelligence (AI)... could be potential topics of cooperation in the future.
