The First International Conference on Scientific Research Cooperation between Vietnam and Poland (Viet - Pol 2014) was held successfully on June 23 - 27, 2014 at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland. This conference had attracted more than 100 participants from universities and research institutes in both Vietnam and Poland and 40 papers were presented, covered a broad scope of all important issues in geosciences, mining and related topics. The conference was a summary of the cooperation between the AGH University of Science and Technology and many institutes and universities of Vietnam in training and scientific research.
Continuing this success, the Second International Conference on Scientific Research Cooperation between Vietnam and Poland in Earth Sciences (Viet – Pol 2015) has been formally opened on 05th November 2015 at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. The Second Conference got honorable endorsement and enthusiastic support from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vietnam, Association of Vietnam-Poland Friendship, and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) of Vietnam. Especially, the Conference is sponsored by Vietnam National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED).

The scientific content of Viet-Pol 2015 is presented by a total of 65 contributions from Vietnamese and Poland scientists of various professional expertise in Earth Sciences and technology from many institutions. The presentations are arranged in four scientific sessions with 34 oral presentations and a poster session with 31 presentations. The scientific talks address many current issues in Earth sciences, mining, and related fields. The up-to-date research results and modern trends in Earth sciences and related research areas are also presented. This is a new opportunity for Vietnamese and Polish scientists in approaching a new frontier of research on Earth sciences and creates an excellent environment for partners from both two countries to discuss, propose and take the new initiatives for collaborations in research and education in the future.
