The program took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Hai – Rector of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, with the participation of leaders of faculties hosting international students, the Office of International Office, the Advanced Program Office, and lecturers directly supervising international students in their study and internship activities at the University.
Currently, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology provides undergraduate and master’s degree programs for students from Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Mongolia, and hosts exchange students from France and India. International students pursue their studies in the University’s key fields such as geology, mining, petroleum engineering, environment, economics, and related engineering and technological disciplines, thereby contributing to affirming the University’s position and reputation in education and scientific research in the region and worldwide.
At the gathering, Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Hai, on behalf of the University’s leadership, extended his best New Year wishes to international students. The Rector expressed his hope that international students would continue to strive for high achievements in their studies and research at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology.
Sharing the cultural significance of the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the Rector expressed his expectation that international students would gain meaningful cultural experiences, thereby enhancing their understanding of the country and people of Viet Nam during their time studying at the University. At the same time, he emphasized that the University always pays close attention to and accompanies international students throughout their study, research, and daily life at HUMG.
