From Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Vinh, Vice President, along with representatives of the University’s offices and faculties.

Overview of the working session
Since 2025, cooperation between Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and Kunming University of Science and Technology has gradually been implemented through a number of specific activities. Hanoi University of Mining and Geology sent five students to participate in the International Summer Camp on Low-Carbon Metallurgy and Green Energy in China and attended the 2025 International Conference on the Development of Engineering Education. In November 2025, a delegation from Kunming University of Science and Technology visited and worked with Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, during which the two sides exchanged views on orientations for establishing the Sino-Vietnamese Excellent Engineer Institute. These activities laid the foundation for the two universities to further promote practical cooperation in engineering education, enterprise connection and educational internationalization.

Building on the initial cooperation outcomes, at this working session, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and Kunming University of Science and Technology agreed to promote the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Within this cooperation framework, Kunming University of Science and Technology committed to supporting the talented engineer training programmes of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, thereby contributing to improving training quality and expanding students’ access to advanced training models.

In addition, the two sides agreed to coordinate with Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises in order-based training, linking training programmes with the practical human resource needs of businesses. This cooperation aims to meet the demand for high-quality human resources in the mineral sector while strengthening connections among educational institutions, enterprises and the labour market.
The working session contributed to consolidating the cooperative relationship between Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and Kunming University of Science and Technology, creating a foundation for the two sides to implement practical cooperation programmes in engineering education, high-quality human resource development and enterprise connection in the mineral sector. The activity also reflected HUMG’s efforts to expand its international partner network, improve training quality and promote educational internationalization.
