The event which was to celebrate the 55th years of establishment of HUMG and 55th anniversary of the Department of Underground Mining attracted the participation of scientists, managers and representatives of the mining industry in Viet Nam and around the world to discuss all industry updates, insights, current status and trends for the mining industry.

The conference opened on the afternoon of 17 November, 2021 with a welcome speech by Mr. Tee Boon Teong - General Manager of Informa Markets in Vietnam and opening remarks by Prof. Bui Xuan Nam - Vice Rector of HUMG. Mr. Tee Boon Teong and Prof. Bui Xuan Nam affirmed that the event was a very good opportunity for information exchange and connection between scientists, universities and mining industry, a result of strengthening partnership between Informa Markets and HUMG since 2016.

Ten presentations were delivered by experts, including professors of HUMG’s Underground Mining Department, top managers of Ha Lam Joint Stock Company - VINACOMIN and Nam Mau Coal Mining Company – TKV. These presentations focused on significant topics of underground mining industry, such as: safety management systems, technology research and implementation in coal production, mechanization of underground mining, geophysical methods for underground mining, ventilation and propping. In-depth exchanges among speakers, industrial representatives from different mining companies in Vietnam, and partcipants of Mining Vietnam Confex offered the audience opportunities to better understand the status quo of the mining industry in Viet Nam and its perspectives.
