The HUMG student delegation visited National Central University, Taiwan
The program provided HUMG students with opportunities to engage in research activities in geology, water resources, environmental science and Earth sciences, while broadening their professional knowledge and developing academic skills.
During more than a month at NCU, the students attended specialized lectures and participated in research and practical activities under the guidance of NCU lecturers, experts and doctoral students. In the laboratories, they learned about research procedures, data processing and analysis, and became familiar with modern equipment and research methods, thereby strengthening their ability to apply disciplinary knowledge in practice.
One of the highlights of the program was a visit to the Puding Water Resource Recovery Center. There, the delegation learned about water treatment, recovery and reuse systems, as well as resource management and environmental protection solutions associated with sustainable urban development.

The delegation also conducted a field survey at Yangmingshan National Park, an area renowned for its landscapes, geological features and ecosystems. The field activity enabled the students to directly observe geological, topographic and natural environmental features while learning about resource management and ecosystem conservation.

Alongside the academic and research activities, HUMG students had opportunities to interact with lecturers, doctoral students and international students through academic, sports and social activities. Through discussions, conversations and group activities, the students strengthened their connections, improved their English communication and teamwork skills, and developed greater confidence and initiative in a multicultural environment.

At the end of the program, all six HUMG students completed the required academic, research and practical components and were awarded certificates by National Central University.

Sharing his reflections after the program, Dam Duy Nhat Minh, a student from the Faculty of Geosciences and Geoengineering, said:
“The internship at NCU was a very meaningful experience for me. After more than a month in the program, I gained a deeper understanding of my field and new perspectives on how to approach a research problem. More importantly, this experience helped me define my future direction more clearly and gave me greater motivation to continue pursuing my studies and research in the future.”
Building on a partnership established in 2017, particularly in the field of geology, HUMG and NCU have maintained various academic exchange activities over the years. The 2026 International Summer Internship Program further strengthened the relationship between the two universities while expanding cooperation in education, research and academic exchange. Through the program, HUMG students gained more opportunities to broaden their professional experience, engage with an international learning and research environment, and enhance their adaptability in the context of international integration.
