International Conference on Economic Management in Mineral Activities (EMMA 2018) successfully organized for the fourth time, attracting representatives of five continents

EMMA is a bi-annual event which is co-organized by Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) and Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola Bochum (THGA, Germany). This conference is an initiative from Prof. Jürgen Kretschmann, the President of THGA and A/Prof. Nguyen Thi Hoai Nga, a senior lecturer of HUMG. They are now serving as the President (2018 – 2019) and Member of Asia in the Council of Society of Mining Professors (SOMP). Therefore, this year the conference EMMA 4 is under the auspice of SOMP, attracting members of the Society and many international scientists from five different continents.

International Conference on Geo-spatial Technologies and Earth Resources

The International Conference on Geo-spatial Technologies and Earth Resources (GTER-2017), which was held during October 5-6, 2017, at the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Hanoi, Vietnam. GTER-2017 is co-organized by HUMG and International Society for Mine Surveying (ISM) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Department of Mine Surveying (HUMG). The conference is financially supported by Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association (VMSTA), Vietnam Association of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing (VGCR), Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (VINACOMIN), and Dong Bac Corporation (NECO).

Graduate courses and activities within VEF-US Faculty Scholar Program 2016-2017

In the framework of VEF-US Faculty Scholar Program, Professor Nguyen Thai Duc from Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Old Dominion University, United State of America has delivered two graduate courses of "Finite Element Methods (FEM)" in the Fall 2016 semester and "Engineering Optimization (EO)" in the Spring 2017 semester for lecturers and students of HUMG through video-conferencing/remote teaching mode, supplemented by his "face-to-face" intensive seminars to be held at HUMG campus.

International Symposium on “Geo-spatial and mobile mapping technologies” in 50th anniversary of Faculty of Geomatics and Land Administration

From 7th to 10th of May, 2016, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology hosted successfully the International Symposium on “Geo-spatial and mobile mapping technologies” and “International Summer School on Mobile Mapping Technology” on the occasion of 50th anniversary of its Faculty of Geomatics and Land Administration.
