Hanoi University of Mining and Geology strengthens educational and academic cooperation in Lao PDR

From 24 to 28 August 2026, a delegation from the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, Vice President of the University, participated in a programme organised by the Ministry of Education and Training to explore and promote training cooperation between Vietnamese and Lao higher education institutions. The programme brought together representatives from 15 Vietnamese higher education institutions and four universities and colleges in Lao PDR, focusing on training needs and cooperative models for human resource development.

From 26 to 29 July 2026, a delegation of staff and students from Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) paid a working visit to Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GXUST) in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The visit aimed to translate the cooperation directions agreed upon by the two universities into concrete action while expanding collaboration in education, scientific research and academic exchange, particularly in engineering and technology.

On July 2, 2026, at Thuan Thanh Meeting Room, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology held a working session with a delegation from Kunming University of Science and Technology, China. The activity followed the initial cooperation outcomes between the two universities since 2025. The two sides focused their discussions on promoting the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, supporting HUMG’s talented engineer training programmes, and coordinating order-based training linked to enterprise needs in the mineral sector.
