Representative of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology Attended the IUT Summer Institute 2025 in the Russian Federation

From July 28 to August 10, 2025, at the Industrial University of Tyumen (IUT), Russian Federation, Dr. Bui Thanh Tinh – Lecturer, Department of Prospecting and Exploration Geology, Faculty of Geosciences and Geology Engineering – represented Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) at the IUT Summer Institute 2025. This was the second time that IUT had hosted the program, under the theme “Sustainable Development: Technology, Environment, Safety.” The initiative aimed to expand academic cooperation networks in education and research, while providing a forum for young scientists from many countries to share knowledge, experiences, and innovative ideas.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Tyumen Industrial University (IUT), Russian Federation, and Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetlana Tarasova – lecturer from the Department of Environmental Technical Safety – carried out a scientific exchange program at HUMG in April 2025. The activity was conducted under the academic supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Phi – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environment. This program is part of the Russia –Vietnam Consortium of Technical Universities, aiming to enhance academic exchange, foster applied research, and share expertise in the fields of environment and sustainable resource extraction.

From May 6 to 9, 2025, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) had the honor of hosting a delegation from Trisakti University (Indonesia) as part of an academic exchange and cultural immersion program. The delegation consisted of faculty members, administrative staff, and students from Trisakti University, led by Dr. Suryo Prakoso – Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology. The visit not only created opportunities for meaningful academic discussion between the two institutions but also contributed to fostering mutual understanding and strengthening cooperation in training and research.

International Seminar with Canadian Experts on Sustainable and Responsible Mining

On March 6, 2025, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) welcomed Madam Louise Michaud – Deputy Minister of Advanced Education of Saskatchewan, Canada, and held in thematic seminar on Sustainable and Responsible Mining. The event was attended by representatives from the Saskatchewan Office in Vietnam, as well as universities from Saskatchewan, including the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
