On 18th August 2020, The University Performance Metrics (UPM) announced its rating system to universities in Vietnam and ASEAN, with the witness of H.E. Minister Phung Xuan Nha, Ministry of Education and Training and representatives from more than 30 universities and media on site and a room for online conference. HUMG opens master courses and doctoral programs, first term of 2020

On July 10, 2020, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology organized the Welcome Ceremony for master students and doctor candidates, the first semester of 2020 for postgraduates that successfully passed the entrance examinations and enrollment by the end of May 2020. Attendees of the ceremony are professors, administrative staff of HUMG, 234 students of 14 master courses, and 5 doctor candidates.

Industrial partners of HUMG bringing more job opportunities to students in electromechanics, automation and oil and gas chemical engineering

Within the third week of June 2020, two important industrial partners of HUMG visited the university, offering oppportunities for students to work in modern production lines in Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa. LG Display Viet Nam Hai Phong Co. Ltd. came back to HUMG this time after the recruiment of nearly 20 alumni in 2019, looking for a higher number of qualified employees when this school year 2019 - 2020 ends in the middle of July. Meanwhile, in additional to recruiment, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical met up with leaders of HUMG to find out possibilities for an overall collaboration with the university in education, research and knowledge exchange.

Strengthening collaboration with companies in information technology, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology signed two MOUs today with national entrepreneurs

On June 9 2020 Hanoi University hosted organizations in information technology, ICDL Viet Nam Joint Stock Company and ADT International Joint Stock Company to discuss for collaboration in the future. ICDL Joint Stock Company aims to provide ICDL Profile Certificate of ECDL/ICDL Foundation in Viet Nam, to offer flexibility, allowing candidates and organisztions to decide on the combination of ICDL programmes they wish to implement, according to individuals academic, business and job needs. ADT International Joint Stock Company is developing a smart platform (JobNow) to connect employers and job seekers by fuctions of positions, online interview, online jobfairs, and Flash Jobs, ect. On the same day, HUMG signed Memorandum on Understanding with the two companies.

The in-time system is a proof of the commitment of organizations to protect staff and students of HUMG from SARS-COVI-2.
