During the last decade, we have witnessed dramatic evolution and critical changes in the information technological sectors that the Internet of things (IoT) has emerged and enabled digital transformation to become an important part of the society and drive significant change of human life. Continuing impressive successes of the IoT paradigms, an intelligent ability is urgently need to connect all activities in to the Internet environment. To this end, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into the IoT infrastructure is considered a promising solution, which defines the next generation of the IoT, i.e., the intelligence of things (IoT2/AIoT).
To adapt with this irreversible trend, universities are also required to quickly changes and bring in new training and research objectives in IoT sectors as important parts of their enduring development. In addition, the bounders environments of IoT requires a strong bound between institutions and individuals to connect, exchange and cooperate in all related activities in order to sustain and develop. In this regard, the International Conference on Intelligence of Things is initiative and co-organized by 6 Vietnamese universities, including: Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Ho Chi Minh City Open University (HCMOU), Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) and Quy Nhon University (QNU). HUMG is proud to be the first host of the first ICIT 2022 gathering scholars from Australia, Germany, USA, Japan, Korea, China... who address the current state of technology and the outcome of ongoing research in the area of Big Data, AioT.

Within the framework of the Conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between 4 universities: HUMG, VNUA, QNU and HCM OU. Accordingly, the four universities mentioned above will jointly develop scientific research activities, technology transfer, and co-organize the annual ICIT conference to support and improve the effectiveness of implementating their mission and development strategy.

The delegates also witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation between 05 faculties with training in the field of Information Technology of the universities: Faculty of Information Technology of HUMG; Faculty of Information Technology of VNUA, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering of HCMUT, Faculty of Information Technology of HCMOU, and Faculty of Information Technology of QNU. The five faculties will jointly develop cooperation on enrollment, training, scientific research, technology transfer, education quality assurance and accreditation, conference and seminar organization, international cooperation and communication.
Starting in 2022, this event will be held annually according to the agreement between the co-founders. ICIT 2022 is also an important event in the series of activities towards the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Information Technology – Hanoi University of Mining and Geology.
