With the goal of jointly developing cooperation on scientific research activities, technology transfer, innovation, academic exchange, scientific publication, research in service of socio-economic development of localities; international cooperation in science and technology to support and improve the effectiveness of the implementation of the Vision, Mission and Development Strategy of each University. Accordingly, the 7 institutions have agreed on the scope of cooperation:
Firstly, to develop inter-university, inter-disciplinary and inter-regional programs of scientific research and innovation, in order to successfully implement the sustainable development goals in Vietnam.
Second, to build strong inter-university and interdisciplinary research groups in the fields: basic science, health science, earth science, agriculture and food security, robotics, mechanics, internet of things; Big data; artificial intelligence; digital transformation; advanced materials; recycled energy; environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources; circular economy and labor productivity, smart transportation...
Third, to share resources in terms of facilities and laboratories to serve common cooperation activities, to share data on science and technology based on compliance with the provisions of laws and regulations of each institution.
Fourth, to develop activities of academic exchange, joint publication, to connect journals of 7 universities.
Fifth, to coordinate the organization of national and international scientific conferences.
Sixth, to carry out scientific programs in cooperation with provinces, localities, ministries, industry to promote technology transfer in order to serve socio-economic development.
Rectors of 7 technical universities signing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in science, technology and innovation
At the ceremony, the rectors of 7 technical universities gave speeches about the potential of science, technology and innovation of their institutions and the prospect of cooperation within the group G7.
As the host, Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Hai - Rector of HUMG expressed his belief that with the strong commitment of the 7 universities, the group will form a block of solidarity, unity, mutual support and sharing of resources to develop and go further together, meet the requirements of future development.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son congratulated the cooperation of 7 universities, which is important for mutual development. He emphasized 3 key considerations for Vietnamese universities: cooperation, change and leadership to play a pioneering and leading role in the Vietnamese higher education system. He also expressed his wish that the cooperation between 7 technical universities will be a model for other universities in Vietnam towards common and comprehensive development.
