CommTECH Camp Highlight is a short-term international learning and exchange programme that brings together students from different countries to explore emerging developments in engineering, technology and innovation. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on activities, project-based learning and cultural experiences, the programme aims to enhance participants’ academic knowledge, teamwork skills and global outlook.

During her two weeks at ITS, the HUMG student attended lectures and workshops and took part in hands-on activities focusing on innovation in mechanical engineering, computer science, applied sciences, information technology and manufacturing engineering. The programme gave her opportunities to explore emerging technological trends and learn how knowledge could be applied to address engineering challenges through creative and practical approaches.

A highlight of the programme was the final project, which was completed by multinational teams. Working with students from different countries, Nguyen Pham Bao Tran participated in identifying problems, exchanging ideas, proposing solutions and presenting the team’s findings. Studying and working in a multicultural environment enabled her to strengthen her creative thinking, communication, teamwork and English-language skills while improving her ability to adapt and collaborate in an international learning environment. It also gave her the opportunity to explore different perspectives and problem-solving approaches shared by other team members.
In addition to academic activities, the students visited several research facilities, technology centres and notable sites in and around Surabaya. Cultural exchange activities enabled them to learn more about Indonesia and its people, build connections with international peers and introduce distinctive aspects of Vietnamese culture. These practical experiences enriched their learning journey and gave them greater insight into the education and research environment at ITS.

At the end of the programme, Nguyen Pham Bao Tran received a certificate from ITS in recognition of her completion of the academic sessions, project work and cultural exchange activities undertaken as part of CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026.

Reflecting on the programme, Nguyen Pham Bao Tran said: “CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 was a truly meaningful experience for me. My two weeks at ITS not only enabled me to expand my knowledge of engineering and technology but also gave me the opportunity to work with friends from many different countries. Through the academic activities, project work and cultural exchanges, I became more confident and gained new perspectives on my field of study and future development.”

This year marked the third time HUMG students had participated in CommTECH Camp, continuing the University’s efforts to promote international learning, experiential education and global engagement. The knowledge, skills and connections gained through the programme will provide a valuable foundation for students to become more confident in their studies and career development and better prepared to thrive in multicultural environments. Through their participation, HUMG students continued to demonstrate their dynamism, initiative, eagerness to learn and readiness for global integration.
