ConocoPhillips Vietnam Awards Scholarships

ConocoPhillips Vietnam Awards Scholarships to Students of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology at a special ceremony on 25 October 2007. ConocoPhillips recently awarded scholarships totaling US $2,500 (VND 40,500,000) to talented students enrolled in the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. The scholarships were given to students majoring in geophysics, petroleum geology, petroleum machinery and equipment, petroleum engineering and petrochemical - oil refining who demonstrated the highest levels of scholastic achievement through entrance examinations and course grades.  

ConocoPhillips’ business in Vietnam is built upon development of energy resources in a  responsible manner and in a manner that contributes to the communities in which it operates. The scholarship program is part of the company’s significant commitment to development of domestic talent and capabilities in the Vietnamese petroleum sector.

The scholarships were presented at a special ceremony Oct. 25 attended by representatives of the Management Board of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, lecturers of the Faculty of Petroleum and managers from ConocoPhillips Vietnam.
